Steve began his insurance career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield after leaving the home furnishings industry as Divisional President of Interiors, Inc., a $200 million corporation. In 1996 he became Vice President of Marketing for ADCAHB, the nation’s largest BC/BS agency group. He managed marketing, technology, commissions, agent and customer services and market development for the 18,000 new policy holders yearly. Steve maintains his insurance licenses in both Florida and Georgia. In 2003 the health insurance crisis inspired him to seek out a new method of providing health care benefits, replacing the traditional health plans, which could not provide coverage to an ever-increasing segment of the market, due to spiraling premiums and pre-existing condition exclusions. Together with Sam and Harold Shatz, this quest led to the creation of iCan, allowing hundreds of thousands of families to access the health care they need at a manageable price.
